Beginning July 1, 2026 (with new episodes every Wed throughout the month) join the young people of Crossroads Juvenile Center in Brooklyn as they embark on a powerful storytelling journey. Through their own voices, they will share reflections on the realities of incarceration, the challenges they have faced, and the dreams and aspirations they carry for life beyond confinement.
Since 2024, The Bklyn Combine has partnered with Crossroads to provide transformative educational and creative programming. Together, we have worked alongside these young people to help them discover, develop, and tell their stories. The narratives featured in this series offer a rare and personal window into their lives—revealing not only the circumstances that brought them to Crossroads, but also their resilience, growth, and hopes for the future.
These stories are more than personal accounts; they are opportunities for understanding. For readers on the outside, they provide valuable lessons about the choices, environments, and challenges that can shape a young person's path. Most importantly, they remind us that every young person has a story worth hearing and a future worth investing in.
