In 2022, we launched our own mobile currency system known as “Combine Coin.” This community-based cryptocurrency allowed participants to send and receive value that could be redeemed with participating partner organizations within the Combine network. Send and receive Combine Coin with anyone in the Bklyn Combine, pay for meals, clothing, language lessons, haircuts, and a range of services offered in our marketplace. Donate to an important cause or tip workers in our community.
Designed as an alternative to conventional cash payments—particularly for younger participants—Combine Coin was created to introduce concepts of collaboration, shared economy, and collective responsibility. The initiative encouraged youth to understand how effort, trust, and mutual support contribute to building sustainable community ecosystems.
