All I see is black and brown defendants ...we have to change the narrative the system is doing what it's supposed to do ...I've been doing this almost 20 years. It's quite amazing to observe it never gets old. It's incredible how comfortable everyone is with black and brown bodies being chained, even we are desensitized to it. All the defendants the same and all the Ausa's and prosecutors and judges look the same. We are not tired of this narrative. We are complacent, complicit, comfortable and broken. All the men removed from the community all the women tired and confused as they sit in audience with babies waiting to speak to lawyers to explain what just happen and what it means. Sometimes oddly enough it's a festive environment, but it isn't anything festive about it. In federal arraignment and court the agents move around with lots of bravado because they know people are cooperating and the system supports them at every turn they don't have to hide anything. The prosecutors are nice for the most part because they know they are playing with house money with their Ivy Education...and the know they have all the resources. They don't have to be smart don't have to be good...the narrative is theirs to author…
